Hear Bob Brownstein at the September Lunch with League

On September 16, 2010 the League welcomes Bob Brownstein, Policy Director at Working Partnerships USA when he addresses Structuring Public Employee Compensation Programs for the New Economy. Working Partnerships is a public policy institute that builds partnerships with community, labor and faith groups to improve lives of working families in the Silicon Valley. Bob will be discussing public workers pay and compensation in economically challenged times.
Brownstein's specialty is government budgets and fiscal decision-making; however, he has played a role in numerous other areas of public policy. His significant achievements include helping to: preserve the financial stability of the County hospital; modify San Jose's affordable housing programs for the benefit of low income families, establish an expanded network of youth services throughout San Jose, create a Greenline and fiscal triggers to prevent urban sprawl, design and expand the San Jose Living Wage policy, develop policies to restrain privatization of government services, and plan the San Jose/San Jose State Joint Library.
Lunch choices include walnut and chicken salad, grilled sliced sirloin sandwich, eggplant parmesan, tuna melt and linguini picatta with chicken. The cost is $15, payable at the door. Please RSVP, with menu choice, to Marie Arnold, 629-5340 by Monday, September, 13.
