Voter Education Programs
We make voting easier through varied voter education
programs. The League of Women Voters conducts voter
service and citizen education activities as well as distributes
educational materials about state and local elections.
Through these non-partisan programs the League
contributes to educating our voters and making Democracy
work for everyone. The League programs:

-
Build citizen participation in the democratic process.
-
Study key community issues at all government levels in an unbiased manner.
-
Enable people to seek positive solutions to public policy issues through education and conflict management.

Candidate Forums
Educated and informed voters are the key to our democracy. Forums provide an opportunity to hear candidate’s positions on issues important to voters. They also provide an option to become engaged in the political process by using critical and analytical abilities in examining the candidate's positions.

Before elections, the League of Women Voters of San Jose/Santa Clara partners with local neighborhood associations, cities, parent organizations, and diverse community groups to sponsor Candidate Forums. Read more about our Candidate Forums here.
